LEGO Summer Camp
Chop Shop's LEGO Summer Camp is a week-long exploration into STEAM and robotics. During the week, campers learn how to build and program their own LEGO robot to race, joust and navigate a maze!
The week of July 22nd, Chops Shop hosted our annual LEGO Summer Camp where seventeen campers participated in three challenges using LEGO Spike Prime Robots. The campers were placed in teams of two where they worked together to design and program their robots to overcome the challenges. The three challenges were racing, jousting, and overcoming an 8-foot-long maze. They had one day to try and make their robot be the best for racing and jousting, and three days to have their robot complete the maze.
"My favorite part of the week was the robot jousting," said camper Neve. The campers had to configure their robot to be more powerful than their opponent or use objects on the front of their robots to push their opponents out of the battle square.
Chop Shop member Gracie said, "It was really fun to watch all the campers work together and become friends trying to complete the different challenges."
We at Chop Shop all look forward to next year and getting to see all the returning campers and some new faces.
