Mechanical

The Mechanical Team, or "Mech", is charged with the production of the Robot's 'hardware.' They are charged with taking the concept and basic design from whiteboard sketches to final assembly.

Two students using a drill. A student using a cutting tool.

To accomplish this task, the team is generally divided into several sub-teams: the Chassis team, which works on the robot's general frame; the Drive Train team, which works on the locomotive parts; and the Manipulator team, which builds whatever is needed for this year's game. These sub-teams will work independently and co-operatively to complete the robot assembly.

A very, very basic chassis. A student with a basic manipulator: a scissor lift.

Mech usually works in "the Shop", a room filled with a variety of tools to help attain precise measurement, but they also work in the main room on occasion. Supplies are usually abundant, whether they are in the supply closet or the Shop.

The shop in its entirety. Many tools, scraps, and strange mechanisms that are beyond my comprehesion...
