Day 39: Chairman's, Robotics, and Business galore!
The Chop Shop met once again on Wednesday, February 17, 2010. The Chairman's group met, as did the marketing mentor. The robot is nearing completion- in fact, the entire mechanism is coming together!
Chairman's Award's team has been working hard, formulating essays and videos to compete in the main part of FIRST Robotics.

The building teams (like Mechanical, Electrical, and Software) are nearing the completion of the robot. The chassis came together a few days ago, and now other sections of the building team are rushing to get their components working.
Within the robot, there are several main parts. Among these are the Chassis, the scissor lift, the drive system, the kicking mechanism, and the electrical components.
The chassis has been undergoing construction for quite some time, but luckily there haven't been many hitches.

The scissor lift was constructed carefully, but the team forgot about impulse in physics and broke the scissor lift when testing- it was released too quickly, thus maximizing the force. Fortunately, it was quickly repaired with a spare bar. (In the actual competition, the scissor lift will be restrained and slowly released by a winch.)

The drive system has been carefully constructed through testing and much programming.

The kicking mechanism is soon to be implemented.

And last from this list, the electrical components were installed in the robot's chassis.

In other news, the Chop Shop met for a team picture on Saturday.
